About Me

Hello, I’m Aleesha…

I am a person-centred counsellor offering counselling in Blackpool and surrounding areas. I understand how difficult it can feel reaching out for support, especially for the first time. My aim is to provide a calm, supportive, and non-judgemental environment where you feel comfortable exploring your thoughts and emotions at your own pace.

Life can sometimes feel overwhelming, leaving you emotionally exhausted, anxious, stuck, or disconnected from yourself. Counselling offers the opportunity to slow things down, better understand yourself, and explore the thoughts, feelings, or patterns that may be affecting your wellbeing.

Alongside general counselling support, I have experience in supporting domestic violence and abuse survivors both within the counselling setting, and working for a domestic violence charity, as well as clients navigating challenges linked to ADHD, overwhelm, emotional regulation, and self-esteem. My approach is warm, collaborative, and centred entirely around you as an individual.

I am a member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy) which is the leading professional body for talking therapies in the UK, ensuring I adhere to their strict high standards on working both ethically and safely, to ensure my clients receive high quality mental health care.

My Approach

Building A Genuine Therapeutic Relationship

I believe the relationship between counsellor and client plays a huge part in the counselling process and overall experience.

Feeling comfortable, supported, and able to speak openly can make a significant difference, which is why I place importance on creating a space built on empathy, trust, honesty, and understanding.

Counselling is not about being told what to do. It is about having the opportunity to better understand yourself, process emotions, explore patterns, and navigate life’s challenges with support alongside you.

I understand that no two people experience life in the same way, which is why I aim to provide support that feels personal, compassionate, and tailored to you as an individual.

A Personal Introduction…

Sometimes hearing someone speak can help counselling feel a little less daunting. This short introduction is here to help you get a sense of who I am and how I work.

Experience

Supporting A Wide Range Of Experiences

Alongside supporting clients experiencing anxiety, low mood, overwhelm, grief, self-esteem struggles, and life transitions, I also have experience working with individuals affected by domestic abuse and those navigating challenges linked to ADHD.

I understand how emotional overwhelm, masking, low self-worth, difficulty setting boundaries, or feeling constantly “on edge” can impact many areas of daily life and relationships.

My aim is always to provide a supportive and non-judgemental space where you feel safe to explore your experiences openly and at your own pace.

Professional Development

Continually Growing & Developing

I currently offer person-centred counselling and am continuing my professional development through further training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), which I will begin offering alongside person-centred counselling upon qualification.

I am committed to ongoing learning and development to ensure I continue providing supportive, ethical, and compassionate counselling practice.
